Dear USTEAA-USA,

I express my deepest gratitude for your generous support throughout my academic journey. It is with immense pride and joy that I share with you that I graduated as the Magna Cum Laude and the top 1 student of the Electrical Engineering Class of 2024. This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support and generosity provided by the USTEAA-USA.

Your scholarship has not only alleviated the financial burden of my education but has also empowered me to focus on my studies and excel in my field. Because of your support, I have immersed myself fully in my coursework, participated in enriching extracurricular activities, and developed skills that will serve me throughout my career.

Your commitment to nurturing and empowering young students like me is truly inspiring. You have transformed my dreams into reality and have laid a strong foundation for my future. The impact of your scholarship extends beyond financial assistance. It is a beacon of hope and motivation for countless students striving to achieve their dreams. Your generosity impacts our lives and creates a ripple effect that extends to our families. I am a living testament to the transformative power of your mission and programs.

I would also like to mention Ma'am Cita Tibay for her dedication and hands-on support. Her diligence in addressing our queries and her efforts in following up on our tuition fees with the treasury office has been invaluable to us. Her attention and commitment have made a significant difference in ensuring that our academic needs were met promptly and efficiently.

As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I carry the lessons and values I have learned from this experience. I am committed to giving back to the community and helping future generations achieve their goals, just as you helped me achieve mine.

Thank you again, ma’am and sir, for believing in my potential and making my education at UST possible. Your support has been instrumental in my success, and I am forever grateful. May God bless the entire committee for the tireless dedication and support. I pray for continued success and boundless energy as you transform lives through your noble mission. Your legacy of generosity and commitment to education will undoubtedly shape the future of many more young minds, fostering a brighter and more prosperous future for all.

UST Engineering Alumni Association (USA)

I am writing this letter to express my utmost gratitude and sincere appreciation for being chosen as the recipient of the bountiful 4-year full scholarship grant from the UST Engineering Alumni Association (USA). It is with great honor to be granted this scholarship, as I recognize the fierce competition among students for the prestigious opportunity.

Thank you for providing this esteemed opportunity for me to proceed with my higher education at the University of Santo Tomas through your assistance. Given the financial status of my family and the cost of attending this institution, I greatly acknowledge this scholarship to be of significant help in pursuing my dream to be an engineer.

Rest assured that I will always do well in my studies despite engineering being a challenging course, so that you will not regret bestowing this wonderful opportunity you offered me.

Sincerely,
JAIRO RUIZ P. PAÑO

Growing up in a humble household, as a child, I had big dreams I wish to achieve. My mother is a teacher and growing up I really valued education, my education. I believe that having great knowledge will lead me to success in achieving my dreams in life. And so that is what I did and why I have always done my best in school. I graduated elementary as the Class Valedictorian in Balaleng Elementary School. I graduated again as Top 1 during my Junior High School at Ilocos Sur National High School. And recently, I graduated With High Honors in my Senior High School at the same school.

As an academic achiever, I aspired going to a prestigious university in college. And so, I did. I applied at the University of Santo Tomas which is a Center of Excellence in various fields and fortunately got qualified in my first choice program – Chemical Engineering. But studying in this university did not only require my great knowledge but also great financial resources. Unfortunately, my family is not fully equipped with that requirement. My mother is a solo parent supporting me and my two other siblings in our household. We cannot fully afford UST, but I also cannot afford to lose and let down my dreams just because of this situation. That is why I eagerly looked for ways to fund my education such as a scholarship. Due to the pandemic, no exams were administered for scholarship applications which I believe was a disadvantage for my assessment because I am quite confident in passing exams. Alas, I was granted none to my scholarship applications which I questioned how. With this, towards a positive outlook, perhaps I am destined for greater things in life. And I hope that opportunity to be now. Given all my academic achievements and performance together with my family’s financial status, I believe that I am deserving of this scholarship grant which could be of great help for me to pursue my dream of becoming a Chemical Engineer, a Thomasian Engineer.

Ever since I was a child, I already had great fascination with Mathematics and amazed with the number of people who get challenged by it. That is when my dream of becoming an Engineer started. Later in high school, I really enjoyed Physics and Calculus but then again grew another fascination but this time with Chemistry. Laboratory experiments amused me. That is why I thought of pursuing a course that is both related to Mathematics and Chemistry, until I stumbled upon Chemical Engineering. And I am glad I did because after just one semester taking up the course, I really felt belong here. I see it as a passion to study engineering concepts and cannot wait for the day that I will start my career as a Chemical Engineer. Hopefully, that is with of course, the help of this scholarship.
Thank you!

While attending school, I have been also doing a lot of volunteer work and side hustles just to sustain my education. Being awarded this scholarship has given me the opportunity to focus on my academics and make myself one step closer in achieving my goals and my ambitions. This opportunity has also given me the motivation and inspiration to work harder and ensure the quality of my performance is still at its best state. This scholarship would not only help me but will also help my family, especially my sister, financially. Reducing their burden is one of my utmost priorities in life.

With that, I am truly grateful for the association for believing in me and the things that I can do. Now that I am one of your scholars, I promise to continue to strive harder and do everything for the sake of the school, and the association. I swear with all my heart that I will do my very best to maintain a decent image of the association and also to achieve victory and success.

Giving back to the association is something that I ought to do after I establish myself as a successful Thomasian Engineer in the future. I pledge to repay the association's kindness and goodwill. I am optimistic about the future, and I am convinced that this scholarship will help me achieve my objectives. I hope one day, I will be able to help the students achieve their goals just as how the association has helped me.

Once again, I would like to extend my gratitude for the association. Rest assured that I will do well in my studies so you will not regret this wonderful opportunity you have opened up to me.

Respectfully yours,
Genard Benedict

I, Genard Benedict R. De Guzman (2021158944), a first-year Civil Engineering student from the University of Santo Thomas, hereby accept the award as the recipient of the 4-year USTEAA (USA) Scholarship grant retroactive to the first semester of SY 2021-2022.

I want to inform the organization that I am not a recipient of any other scholarship program and have never been.

I also want to use this letter to express my deepest gratitude to the whole USTEAA (USA) Community, especially the Scholarship Committee for considering me as a worthy recipient of this prestigious scholarship and is giving me an opportunity to continue my study at the school I love the most. It is such a major honor to me, as I know that the competition for this scholarship is really high.

To the whole UST Engineering Alumni Association (USA) family,

Saying thank you a thousand times will never be enough to express my sincerest gratitude. Completing my bachelor’s degree here in UST will not be possible without your great kindness in choosing me as a scholar. I now look forward in giving back to the organization for whatever purpose it may be.

The scholarship has been the sole factor why I was able to focus on my studies without worrying about financial problems. Moreover, it also eased the burden of my family during the trying times of pandemic when we were faced with several obstacles. Now, I also share this success with them.

Even on times when I fall short on my academic performance, your compassion still prevails, and this shall be forever engraved in my heart.

I hope the scholarship will continue to help and inspire more deserving students in years to come. More than providing financial assistance, the program truly stands with its mission to change the world one scholar at a time!

Sincerely,
Jace A. Tesaluna

To UST Engineering Alumni Association - USA,

It is without a doubt that education is the greatest gift a parent can give to their child. Which is why I will forever be grateful for the help USTEAA-USA has given to me and my mother. I can still remember the happiness that I felt when I received the email saying that I was chosen to be the recipient of the scholarship for Batch 2022 and how excited I was to share it with my mother. Through this, I was able to pursue my education without worrying about our family's financial situation. I can not stress this enough, but the association has not only helped me financially, but has also supported me mentally and emotionally. The compassion that you showed to me when I was not able to meet the required grade will always be embedded in my heart. You believed in me, and for that I will always be thankful.

Rest assured that the kindness you have given me will be repaid forward.

Sincerely,

Marichelle A. Lee

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable help in financing my studies. Back when I was in my first year in university, my family was in great financial difficulty after my father got unemployed which almost caused the postponement of my education. With your incredible kindness, I was able to finish my education and now able to fulfill my dream. No words of gratitude can possibly express how thankful my family and I for the generosity, not just financially, but also the compassion and motivation you have provided. During the restless nights of burning the midnight oil, I became more motivated due to the strength you have caused by believing in my capabilities. Owing to the support you have given me, I am confident that the experience and knowledge I have gained at the University of Santo Tomas will allow me to make a lasting significance to the industry. In the future, as I accomplish my dreams and aspirations, I wish to be able to return all the kindness, generosity, and support you have given by helping students like me. Once again, my family and I will forever be thankful to each one of you. My achievements would not have been possible without the association. May God continue to bless you all and your families.
